Here you enter El Memiso, a little village in the mountains north of Las Charcas. Close by the village one of the battles of the historical independence struggle took place. It was the beginning of the independence of the Dominican Republic. (2005)

On the way to San José de Ocoa. Just outside El Memiso the first obstacle. How will we cross this river (Río Banilejo)? The driver of the local bus (guagua) drove my car to the other side because I didn't dare to do so. (2005)

We had to cross the river another time, but it was easy here. At this location, so they say, the historical battle took place. (2005)
